posty post

Ha, I am afraid to post coloured stuff cause of scanning and colour display jazz, but whatever, this is a card I made for my friends wedding at the beginning of the month...they got married on thanksgiving, so I had pumpkins on my mind...

And these are just some quick sketches I did at my desk a couple weeks ago (instead of working) that I coloured with marker...I never colour stuff, then I started feeling lazy...which, justifiably, I am :) I am still staying away from photoshop though, i can handle markers, so fast :)

life drawing post?

i have tried so many times to post this past week, and every single attempt i have made up to this point has been successfully foiled by my evil, sadistic mac browsers. I hope they are having a moment of pity right now...

Postery stuff

Some drawings i coloured to make posters out of for gradshow, colour takes me forever, i have sworn off anything that requires anything more than flat shading in the future...maybe

Weekly Illustration: Bad Luck

Felicia has this sign over her desk that says "Laziness Brings Bad Luck". Coincidentally, she is late for class today. I don't think bad luck affects her at all though so it really doesn't matter.

Weekly Illustration: EVIL

Coffee Shop Sketches

weekly illustration: Starving Artist

This is a poor starving hollywood actress. Sigh, the things they go through for their art. Umm, also, this would be the first time colouring anything since the days of graphic design and beautiful flat colours, so I know there are lots of things that could be better but whateva.
... also i got bored and didn't finish it :) ha ha.

Class Ilustration : childhood trauma

So back in the day when i was a cute, helpless, innocent little child, my mom and older sister decided to send me as into a lake to test for leeches. Turns out there was.

If all the cookies we eat ever affects these girls at all, which is doubtful, they might look like this...only more like themselves (it's Felicia, Janet & Donna). ;)

Class Illustration #6 - "Before & After"

So, if anyone isn't already familiar with the whole geoduck story, in short, Meghan decided she wanted a pet geoduck last year after seeing how cute they were in a picture I showed her (a geoduck is a type of clam that bears a ridiculous resemblance to part of the male anatomy), so when I went back to Kyuquot for the summer, I got one off of the geoduckers (the guys who dive for the geoducks)and decided that it would be ok if I just sunk it off my dock for the remainder of the summer in a 5 gallon bucket/crate combo to keep it safe from the evil little sea otters. Anyway, as it turns out, not a good idea. I pulled the poor little guy up 8 weeks later and I'm pretty sure he had acquired some kind of skin disease, not to mention parasites, barnacles growing OUT OF HIS BODY, algae growths and looking pretty sad all around... So here is the before and after illustration of the poor little geoduck...I let him go by the way, so now he's probably going to spread his skin disease to all the healthy geoducks, deplete the geoduck population, put the geoduckers out of work, the Asian market is going to collapse and then there is going to be a huge war and we're all going to die because Meghan wanted an exotic pet. So, in short...blame meghan... :)

Weekly Illustration #5 : Horrible Illustration

Actually the topic was Socially Awkward. Anyway, it is supposed to be the parents arriving in Vancouver F.O.K (Fresh Out of Kyuquot). I would like to be the first to point out that my mom looks A. nothing like her, B. a little kid, C. Definitely not frazzled enough. And the Background has no perspective and Sid told me it was a huge cop out, and basically I am going to remove this from my blog after today...but I won't remember, so maybe tomorrow. There IS a guest geoduck appearance in it but even that isn't going to save this one. Sigh.

Cam has a pair of giant fuzzy slippers. I think they might even have bears or something on them...eyes or a nose maybe. Anyway, I saw him wearing them in the hallway today and it was too funny with the Cam hair and everything so I had to draw it. Ummm, apparently all the first years think Cam's name is Brian for some reason. Someone should tell them they are wrong.

Weekly Assignment #4 - Frustration

No matter how high little Lauren jumped, no one noticed she was there. Life is hard on pygmies...and animation students enrolled in 2 year animation programs instead of degree programs. :)

Weekly Illustration #3 - Animal Characture of a Classmate

This is the first one I did, but except for the fact that it is a skunk (which kind of gives it away), you can't really tell who it is from the drawing.

Yeah, so, I learned something from this assignment, I always thought that it was Preying Mantis, but it is actually Praying Mantis. Umm, this doesn't affect the fact that the classmate is definitely more of a Preying Mantis...
:)
